Even Terrell Owens Is Tired Of T.O
What started out as a report that Terrell Owens had a “reaction” from his pain medication and was rushed to the hospital has now taking a drastic turn for the worse. Word out of Dallas is that Terrell Owens attempted suicide.
As you can assume this has become the news story of the day with speculation coming from all over. Why would T.O try and kill himself? Was this a publicity stunt? Are the reports false? What? We want answers and we want them now.
In a police news conference just a few minutes ago the police would neither confirm nor deny any reports of suicide. They would not confirm that they asked T.O. whether this was an attempt to hurt himself, in which he responded, “yes.” They would not confirm the report that Owens ingested 30 something pills and had his stomach pumped once he arrived at Baylor Medical Center. The answers we are looking for are not going to be answered by the police.
Well here’s my opinion. I’m sure you all want it.
Now I am not sure why Owens tried to kill himself, or whether or not he tried in the first place. But I do know one thing. This is not a publicity stunt.
No one can possibly benefit from this. He won’t get any endorsements from this. He won’t make any more money. He won’t benefit from this and neither will his agent. If this is found out to be a publicity stunt Owens’ agent Drew Rosenhaus will be fired. He’ll no longer be able to cash that $5 mil he makes a year. I doubt that greedy bastard is willing to jeopardize that.
All day long you’ll hear people placing blame. It’s the media’s fault. It’s his agent’s fault. It’s the Cowboys fault. Blah blah blah.
We all know whose at fault for this whole thing. Terrell Owens. When on the field Owens is as talented a receiver as you can get. He’s strong, he’s fast, he’s one of the best. Off the field he’s a mental midget. He’s about as talented as Corkey Thatcher of Life Goes On fame.
Trust me there is nothing more in this world that I would love than for Terrell Owens to longer be in the media, but I would never wish for it to happen this way.
Owens needs serious help. We’ve known this for quite some time, but maybe he just figured it out. Maybe this suicide attempt wasn’t a suicide attempt at all. Maybe it was just that Terrell Owens finally got tired of T.O. and is crying out for help. I just hope someone close to him is listening.

Wouldn’t you know it…and I drafted him AGAIN in fantasy this year! Can’t I catch a break? Oh, and sorry to hear about T.O.

Update: Apparently T.O. says that it was all a misunderstanding that there was no way that he tried to kill himself and that he’ll be ready to play on Sunday. Which is good news for fantasy owners everywhere. I am just pissed that we sent all day discussing this non-story. T.O. got us again.
