A Week Too Late

I bet your tired of seeing these twoHeading into the first week of the NFL season last week I became nauseated by the overhyping of what was termed “The Manning Bowl.” The week one matchup of brother Peyton and Eli on Sunday night that was set out to give NBC one thing…ratings.

Sure a bunch of people tuned in, but what the brothers Manning gave us was not what we expected. Especially after all those damn commercials they were in, Sportscenter ads, NFLShop ads, Sprint ads, shit I think I even saw the two of them in a preview for the next Brokeback Mountain. Those two were all over the TV like Lohan’s hoo hoo dilly was all over the internet. There was no escaping either.

So what do the two do this week. They just go out and throw for a combined 771 yards and 6 touchdowns. Yeah, where was that shit last week. Those type of numbers against each other would have surely gotten NBC those coveted ratings. But alas, the Manning Bowl was a week too late.

Now I am not planning on researching this, but I am pretty damn sure that no other brother quarterback combo in NFL History has ever put up numbers remotely close to what los Mannings did on Sunday.

With that in mind, I begrudgingly name the both of them this weeks FightingDobermans Co-Fantasy MVPS.

Peyton did beat out his brother 31 points to 28, and ironically the two met up again in the FDFFL this week, with Peyton’s team once again besting younger brothers. But both put up HUGE numbers that were unmatched by any other quarterbacks.

Enjoy your award this week Mannings, I can pretty much guarantee this is the last time you will find your names here.
