Former Duke guard J.J. Redick was busted for driving under the influence early Tuesday morning in Durham, NC.

Now everyone knows that I love Redick.  Loved watching him play for Duke and I will love watching him play in the NBA.

I’m probably one of the few people that think his NBA career will be a good one. (Hell if, Richard Hamilton is an All-Star why can’t Redick be? Isn’t Redick really just the white version of Rip?  I think so.)

Getting arrested for a DWI (or DUI where I live) wasn’t the smartest thing in the world for Redick, especially not two weeks before the NBA Draft.  Word out of some NBA camps is that this has hurt Redick’s already shaky draft status.

My boy blew a .11 on the breathalizer.  Which coincidentally is the same amount of points that he scored in every big NCAA Tournament game in his career at Duke.  But I digress.

I’m not real sure about this, but I would think Redick would be able to afford a cab ride home from whatever bar/party he was at.  Especially since this occured in Durham, where Redick is considered a God by many people.  More than likely could have called some taxi company and they would have given him a free ride home.

I am sure Redick feels real bad about getting caught drinking and driving.  Like all of us, I am sure this wasn’t his first time doing it, it’s just the first time he got caught.

But it could be worse…he could have been at that little stripper party at Duke a couple months ago.  So atleast he’s got that going for him.
