The Rocket Is Coming Back
But not to New York. And not to Boston. And definately not to Texas.
The Rocket, Roger Clemems is apparently returning to play for the Houston Astros.
Of course Clemens and everyone with the Astros are denying the reports.
I guess winning another ring isn’t that important to Clemens. In a way that makes me happy.
As a Yankee fan, the one thing I was not looking forward to was a report that Clemens was going to return to Boston.
Of course deep down inside I knew that he would never go back to the Red Sox.
Because if he wanted to win a title and sacrifice being with his family he would have decided to go back to the Yankees. Cause that would have been his best chance at winning.
Clemens going back to Houston is a wise decision.
He gets to remain in his hometown and remain around his family. He gets to pitch along side his buddy and fellow former Yankee, Andy Pettite. And if the Astros continue to struggle, come September, Clemens could find himself playing along side his son Koby who is in the Astros farm system.
Which would be a father’s dream come true.
Clemens’ family is obviously the most important thing to him. Sure, he’s getting paid an alleged $3.5 million a month (which helps) to play for Houston. But he would have got that amount anywhere.
Staying in Houston proves to me that Clemens is a good guy after all. A guy that has realized that at this time in his career it is more important to be around the people he loves more than the people that give him the best chance at winning.
And it will be real nice to have his lovely wife to cuddle up with after all those bad losses he experiences in Houston.
Welcome Back Rocket.

I forgot that SI did the pro wives swimsuit edition one year. They need to bring that back.
